Terms of Service
Last updated: April 6, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using StrikeMap (the “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Platform.
These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Your continued use of the Platform after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those modifications.
2. Description of Service
StrikeMap is a real-time military conflict intelligence platform that aggregates, enriches, and displays data from multiple open sources. The Platform provides interactive maps, structured incident records, analytics dashboards, real-time alerts, and community features including chat.
The Platform is an informational tool. It is not a substitute for official government warnings, military intelligence, or professional security assessments.
3. Account Registration and Responsibilities
Some features of the Platform require account registration. When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account and use the Platform.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
StrikeMap offers free and paid subscription tiers (Basic, Premium, and Pro). By subscribing to a paid tier, you agree to the following:
- Billing — Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, depending on the plan you select). Payment is processed by Stripe and is due at the beginning of each billing cycle.
- Automatic renewal — Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- Cancellation — You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Refunds — Under Swiss law and the Swiss Code of Obligations, you are entitled to a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of your initial subscription. During this period, you may request a full refund by contacting team@strikemap.live. After the cooling-off period, refunds are not provided for partial billing periods, except where required by applicable law. If you are in the EU/EEA, your right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive applies.
- Price changes — We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the renewal date.
- Taxes — Prices displayed may not include applicable taxes (including Swiss VAT). You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase based on your jurisdiction.
5. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Scrape or automated harvest — Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools to extract data from the Platform without prior written permission.
- Redistribute without permission — Republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit Platform data, enrichments, or analytics without explicit authorization from StrikeMap.
- Misrepresent data — Present StrikeMap data in a misleading, selectively edited, or fabricated context. If you reference our data publicly, you must accurately represent its source, limitations, and confidence level.
- Interfere with the Platform — Attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Platform's infrastructure, security, or availability.
- Abuse community features — Use chat, submissions, or other community features to harass, threaten, or post content that violates our Community Guidelines.
- Use for targeting — Use Platform data to plan, facilitate, or execute acts of violence against any individual, group, or location.
- Submit classified or operationally sensitive information — Do not submit any information that is classified, subject to government secrecy laws, or that could compromise ongoing military operations. StrikeMap is an open-source intelligence platform; all data on the Platform should be considered public.
6. User-Generated Content
By posting content on the Platform (chat messages, submitted reports, media, or other contributions), you:
- Retain ownership of your original content, but grant StrikeMap a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute that content in connection with the Platform's operation and purpose.
- Represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
- Acknowledge that content posted in public chat is visible to all users and may be moderated, anonymized, or removed in accordance with our Community Guidelines.
Intelligence submissions from vetted contributors may be incorporated into StrikeMap's structured records and enriched alongside data from other sources. Source attribution policies are communicated to contributors during the vetting process.
7. Intellectual Property
The StrikeMap platform — including its software, design, enrichment models, aggregated datasets, analytics, and all original content — is the intellectual property of StrikeMap and its operators.
Raw data ingested from third-party sources (Telegram messages, news articles, government alerts, satellite data) remains the intellectual property of its respective owners. StrikeMap's enrichments, structuring, deduplication, and analysis of that data are original works owned by StrikeMap.
You may reference and link to StrikeMap data for personal, journalistic, or academic purposes with appropriate attribution. Commercial use requires written permission.
8. Content Disclaimer
The Platform aggregates and displays information from third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data displayed on the Platform. AI-enriched data may contain errors in location resolution, weapon classification, or event attribution. For full details, see our Content Disclaimer.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Platform and all data, analytics, and content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, reliability, completeness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
StrikeMap data must not be used as the basis for safety-critical decisions. Do not use this Platform to make decisions about personal safety, evacuation, shelter, or any action where inaccurate information could result in harm. Always follow official government and military guidance.
To the maximum extent permitted by Swiss law and applicable mandatory consumer protection legislation, StrikeMap and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable mandatory law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless StrikeMap, its operators, and contributors from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include but are not limited to violation of these Terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, or the Community Guidelines.
Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. If you have an active paid subscription at the time of termination for cause, no refund will be provided. If we terminate your account without cause, you will receive a pro-rata refund for any prepaid period remaining.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law) shall survive.
12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of Switzerland, excluding the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) and conflict-of-law rules.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Zurich, Switzerland, subject to any mandatory consumer protection forum rules that may apply in your jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, nothing in these Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence, including your right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email or platform notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
Your continued use of the Platform following the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
